Mandy is a bilingual mother whose personal experience became the foundation of ChatterKidz.

Raised speaking Cantonese, she found herself geographically distant from her Cantonese-speaking family and unable to pass the language on to her son in any meaningful way. The reality of that gap became undeniable when she witnessed her son struggle to communicate with his grandparents, who eventually asked why he had never been taught Cantonese. That moment of silence and accountability became her catalyst.

Observing that her son absorbed language, humor, and culture far more naturally through friendships than through any formal instruction, Mandy recognised a fundamental truth: children do not just learn better from peers, they thrive because of them. Identifying a wider cultural challenge faced by cross-cultural families across the United States, she founded ChatterKidz to address the quiet erosion of heritage languages across generations.

What began as one mother's response to a personal regret has grown into a purposeful program serving families navigating the space between two languages, two cultures, and two worlds.
